More Holiday Photos

Tractor Girl
We are Ipswich Town fans and Isabelle has been to two matches already. When we were on the Isle of Wight we went to Robin Hill which is a park with some animals and some rides. There is a scaled down village with wooden houses and shops that children can go in and outside was this tractor. I am too tight to pay 50p for her to ride in the tractor when she was happy enough to sit in and press the buttons (which did nothing because I hadn't paid) aren't I such a mean a stingey mummy!!! The only problem is the tractor was green and yellow - colours of our arch rivals Norwich City! URGH!!! No problem I thought so I converted the picture in PSP and to finish it off I cloned out the word Troy which was on the panel and added ITFC (Ipswich Town Football Club)

I really dislike photos of me but I am trying to be brave and have them taken so that when Belle looks back at her scrapbooks she knows I was actually there! However I am finding that black and white is much more flattering so I have been merrily converting the pictures from the holiday to B&W - not all of them, just most of the ones I am in! Here's one of Belle and I at the donkey sanctuary and just to prove there are some colour ones I have put in one of my favourite holiday shots. Not one of the family is featured but instead my favourite shot is of a donkey!

More Holiday Stuff & A Rant

OK I will get the rant over with first! Whenw e came back yesterday on the Wightlink Ferry from Isle of Wight to Portsmouth there was the usual safety announcement which now (inevitably) includes a message about not leaving unattended baggage for security reasons. Within 10 minutes the captainw as on the tannoy because someone had left a back pack unattended in the stairwell. Over the next 20 minutes he came on 4 times with increasingly irrate requests for the owner to retrieve their baggage. In the end the ferry had to be stopped in the middle of the Solent because security regulations do not allow the ferry to dock if there is any hint of a security problem. We had a very tired and grumpy little girl with us and Darren was get crosser and crosser and said he wanted to go upstairs, find the bag and sling it overboard!

Eventually we started and were allowed to dock at Portsmouth so I guess they either found the owner or decided it was not a security risk (or chucked it overboard) but how flippin' stupid to go abandonning you bags within a couple of minutes of an announcement NOT to do so. I have to admit that for a couple of seconds I did worry that it might be something more sinister and checked out our nearest life bouy!!!! Anyway, we (obviously) made it home safe and sound but I was really annoyed at the stupidity of someone who not only caused a delay but also considerable worry in some of the passengers (I saw a couple of very concerned and distressed looking people.)

Anyway, rant over. The holiday was fun and it also gave me a chance to play around with my camera. We took hundreds of shots, some standard snapshots and a few fun things too. Isabelle loves her Monkey and he of course came on holiday, I really like this picture of Izzy and her monkey! It was taken at the park in Ventnor and I took lots of photos of Isabelle toddling around as well as some of her with her Daddy, her Great Suntie (who insists we drop the great!) and my cousins.

There are lots more pictures and lots of things to write about but I have to go over to Mums, she is getting Izzy withdrawal symptoms (I think this is the longest she has been without seeing her) so will blog more later.

Honey I'm Home!

We are back from a lovely week away on the Isle of Wight. We didn't do half the things I wanted to do and the weather was pretty poor but we had a great time staying with my Auntie, Uncle and Cousins. I forget in between visits quite how much I love that little Island!

I took a huge number of photos and I will get some of them edited and uploaded soon but I wanted to post about my evening last Saturday. I logged on to blogger while away to try and update but the site was down and refusing to post my entry :(

My auntie paid for me and my two cousins to go over to Southampton and see Beauty and the Beast at The Mayflower Theatre. The production was great, costumes were lovely and the songs of course were fab. I have been singing "Be Our Guest" to myself ever since! I love most things disney related and Beauty and the Beast is a classic - if you get the chance to see this show you should definitely go!

Will post again soon with more photos and holiday stuff. I am looking forward to my own bed - it's amazing how you can have a really great time away on holiday but by the end you ALWAYS look forward to being home again and in your own bed!

Lots to Post...

Firstly I got the Elsie Flannigan 52 Scrapbooking Challenges book and the Freestyle book and I LOVE them! I am not usually a fan of idea books but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Apart from these two the only other idea bookI have and like is Cathy Zielskes Clean and Simple - complete opposite of Freestyle and Elsie but equally lovely!

I really bought the Freestyle book as part of my getting worked up and over excited about the Scrapping Angels retreat! I can't believe how fast the summer is going and for once I have a tonne of great stuff happening in September so I don't mind! Anna has arranged a fab weekend for the first Scrapping Angels retreat and I just know it is going to be a blast! The teachers lined up are great - there's Anna herself, Ann(i)e Hafermann, Kirsty and Emily Falconbridge (which is where the freestyle book buying came in! As well as cool teachers and projects some of my online friends and people who I know from crops are going too so it should be a wonderful weekend! Can you tell I am excited?!?!?!

Also have to say CONGRATULATIONS to my cousin Elizabeth who got her A Level results today and got three B's -YAY! That is more than enough points for her course and rather excitingly she is coming to lodge with us while she is at uni so at last I will have someone in the house who appreciates and is interested in scrapping - I don't count Belles interest in ripping up all the pretty papers!

We are off on our holidays today for a week to visit my auntie, uncle and cousins in the Isle of Wight. Can't wait and I hope it is nice and sunny. I spent many a long holiday there as a kid and now I want to go back and be all touristy again! I will have Net access so will hopefully upload some pictures while we are away. That is if blogger lets me upload photos as it won't let me attach any images to this post at the moment. Grrrrr!

Bye bye for now!

Tagged

Tagged By Nicki! Lots of questions in this one!

1. If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be?
On a hillside on the Essex Suffolk Border - I have my eye on a field on Nayland hill which would be perfect for my country house built with my lottery win!

2. What's your favourite article of clothing?
PJ's!!! Oh and my fluffy white dressing gown that makes me look like a Jedi or a monk.

3. Favourite physical feature of the opposite sex?
Neck

4. What's the last CD that you bought?
Wow it's a long time since I bought a CD - I mainly listen online these days! But I did recently buy Chilli Peppers Californication for the second time as I lost my first copy. Love that album.

5. Where's your favourite place to be?
In everyday life I love driving around talking and singing with Belle or on my sofa in the evening chilling out with Darren in front of the TV!
In not so everyday life I could really happily manage to pass a few days on the Disney Cruise Ships eating great food, visiting gorgeous places and being pampered!

6. Where's your least favourite place to be?
The dentist - I am soooo scared of it. However as I am not registered with one and none will take me on the NHS I will just have to wait til I get a dental emergency before going! Hmmm.

7. What's your favourite place to be massaged?
Head, if i could afford it I would go to the hairdressers every week just to get my hair done and a head massage.

8. Strong in mind or strong in body?
Mind - well strong ish!

9. What time do you wake up in the morning?
As late as possible. At the moment Darren is on School Holidays and he NEVER sleeps in so he gets Isabelle up when he wakes up and lets me lie in. I love that man!

10. What is your favourite Kitchen appliance?
Dishwasher - no contest.

11. What makes you really angry?
People who are rude. I HATE when I hold a door for someone or whatever and they don't bother to acknowledge you let alone say thank you. Manners cost nothing.

12. If you could play an instrument what would it be?
Piano - I started to learn as a kid but gave up. Everyone said "you'll regret giving it up" but I was sure I wouldn't. Guess what... I *wish* I had kept it up.

13. Favourite colour?
Blue

14. Sports car or SUV?
Neither - for the most part people who can afford to drive a sports car are too old to drive one or too young to have earned it and SUV's are a bit gas guzzlerish for my liking. If I HAD to choose then I could content myself with a sports car that was classy and not too flash or an SUV with a few green credentials!

15. Do you believe in an afterlife?
Yeah I think so, at least I hope so because if not the worms eating you or the burning aren't exactly tempting options.

16. Favourite children's book?
Noughts and Crosses - Malorie Blackman - read this as part of the Top 100 books as chosen by the nation on the Big Read and absolutely loved it.

17. What's your favourite season?
Summer - everyone is much cheerier in summer and there is the big long holiday with DH at home. Love Christmas too though.

18. What is your least favourite household chore?
Ironing - I don't believe in it. Darren irons his own work shirt and thats pretty much all that gets ironed in our house unless it is a special occasion!!!!!!!!

19. If you could have one super-power, what would it be?
Time Stretching. I could really use a few more hours in the day!

20. If you have a tattoo what is it?
I don't have one but if I did I would have a little Ipswich Town Horse like my friend J has on his arm. But I would have it somewhere discreet so it could be shown or hidden depending on whether you wanted to show it!

21. Can you juggle?
Yes - but not very well.

22. The one person from your past that you wish you could go back and talk to?
My Gran. I miss her every day. I would love her to have met Belle and to know what she would think of her.

23. What's your favourite day?
Thursday - I go to work on Wednesdays so on Thursday I know I have a six day weekend ahead of me! (Yeah, like I have endless time to do anything I want!)

24. What's in the boot of your car?
Pushchair Wheels and a stack of old scrapbook magazines.

25. Which do you prefer, sushi or hamburger?
Hamburger. Why would you want to eat fish that hasn't been cooked - it is simply wrong.

There Must Be Something Wrong With Me!

I have done some more scrapping! After getting lots of lovely new Basic Grey packages sent out I got my hands on a pack of Lily Kate and scrapped for a few hours. The scan on this is a bit rubbish as I attempted to scan and stitch it at about 1 a.m. but I am just totally in love with these rub ons - they are Lace Border Wholy Cow Rub Ons. It's a very pink layout but I am quite pleased with it! :)

Fun In The Sun!

Last week we had my friend and her children over to play and Izzy had a whale of a time. I love this photo of Susanna and Isabelle. They were so cute playing together even though Izzy is so much smaller she loves to play with her friends!

Baby Shoes

I *love* these shoes. I hated them when we bought them but there was only one pair in the shop in the right size and the right type - the lady insisted she have cruising shoes because sandals were not appropriate and didn't give enough support as she was learning to walk. Duh! I wanted cute sandals not something to help her walk!!!!

Izzy WILL not wear her shoes. She pulls them right off again - so I tried doing them tighter but I swear her feet will lose circulation and fall off if I do them tighter and she still gets them off! I guess she wants to be a hippy and stroll barefoot through a meadow with some bunnies hopping around and a daisy crown in her hair!

Anyway, I was packing the car up ready to leave Mums a week or two ago and put the shoes (which had been ripped from her feet within minutes of them going on) on the bonnet of the car while I strapped Isabelle in and they just looked so cute I had to snap a pic of them!

OK So NOW I can show you!

Well my busy weekend a couple of weeks ago was a bit frustrating as I wanted to share what I had been scrapping and I couldn't! Our UKS cybercrop kits were very popular and kept us on our toes with packing pizza boxes and our class was uploaded yesterday. MY technique was inking and we had to produce a DLO and a sketch. I used our Time kit because I just ADORE the 7 gypsies whimsy rub ons that came in it!

My other 3 layouts were for Nicki Harveys "Ready To Scrap?" Design Team so I can't upload them here yet but I can link to the page where she is selling the kit which I used and my three SLO's using the kit are on there. Clickety Click Just Here!
